Method 1: Using a USB Cable (Recommended)

Step 1: Connect Your iPhone to Your PC

  • Use a USB cable to connect your iPhone to your PC.
  • Unlock your iPhone and tap “Trust” if prompted to allow access.

Step 2: Open File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac)

  • On Windows, open File Explorer.
  • On Mac, open Finder.

Step 3: Locate Your iPhone

  • In File Explorer or Finder, look for your iPhone under “This PC” (Windows) or “Devices” (Mac).
  • Click on your iPhone to access its contents.

Step 4: Transfer Photos

  • Navigate to the “DCIM” folder on your iPhone.
  • Inside the “DCIM” folder, you’ll find subfolders with your photos. These folders are named numerically (e.g., “100APPLE,” “101APPLE,” etc.).
  • Copy the photos you want to transfer and paste them into a folder on your PC.

Step 5: Organize and Backup

  • Create a dedicated folder on your PC to store your iPhone photos.
  • Organize your photos by date, event, or any other preferred method.
  • Consider using cloud storage services like Google Drive or OneDrive for automatic backups.


Method 2: Using iCloud Photos (Wireless)

Step 1: Enable iCloud Photos on Your iPhone:

  • Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Photos.
  • Turn on “iCloud Photos.”

Step 2: Access iCloud Photos on Your PC:

  • Open a web browser and visit iCloud.com.
  • Log in with your Apple ID.

Step 3: Download Photos:

  • Click on “Photos” and select the images you want to download.
  • Click the download icon (cloud with arrow) to save them to your PC.
