In a recent research by NordPass it found that the '123456' is not more the most common password, now 'password' key take the title of being most common password used in India. Other than India, Japan has the same set of most common password being used by their countrymen.

In the list the other common password which are used by the users are 'iloveyou', 'krishna', 'sairam' and 'omsairam'. The researcher also mentioned that the password with combination of predicated keyword and numbers are quite popular in India.

"Passwords such as 12345 and variations of qwerty were ranked high up in the lists. Worldwide, these combinations are also quite popular, as well as localized versions of qwerty (for example, aazerty` in French speaking countries)," the research showed.
In India the other common password mentioned in the research are 123456789, 12345678, india123, qwerty, abc123, xxx, Indya123, 1qaz@WwsSX, 123123, abcd1234 and 1qaz.
Overall trend of the common password of India are similar to the other countries except one or two password.
"Overall, in India, 62 passwords out of the 200 can be cracked in less than a second. That`s 31 per cent whereas globally, the percentage is 84.5 per cent.
"Unfortunately, the passwords keep getting weaker and people still don`t maintain proper password hygiene," says Jonas Karklys, CEO of NordPass.
"It`s important to understand that passwords are the gateway to our digital lives, and with us spending more and more time online, it`s becoming enormously important to take better care of our cybersecurity," Karklys added.
If your password is making the list of the most common password then change it immediately with a strong combination.
